    1. I often pick books to read by their covers alone and this one was one I took a chance on and I am so very glad I did. Take the Monkey and Run, by Laura Morrigan, which came out July 5th was one of the most fun mysteries I have ever read. I was blown away by how much fun, how great the mystery and characters were and how quickly I felt emotionally attached and involved I felt in this story. It was such an awesome read. I don't want to give it away at all, however I will say this, the diverse and [...]

    2. This is one of my top 5 favorite cozy series, and this latest book lives up to the standard of the previous three. Grace Wilde has the ability to talk to animals--most importantly to understand what they are thinking and how to impact their thinking/moods. The first books in the series established all the series regulars, so this book moves them all to New Orleans where they meet with with Belinda, the psychic b and b owner. Belinda is just as charming and interesting a character as are the seri [...]

    3. Another wild and exciting ride in this installment. The mystery was wonderful as usual, and kept the interest going all the way with its page turning exciting plot. The main animal that needed to be rescued, brought a lot of new problems for Grace, that left some interesting moments. As for the ending, for this series, there is almost always, a cliff hanger ending. There is no stopping with this book. Its left on an ending that will leave you wondering, what is in store for the next installment. [...]

    4. Loved itthe author has gotten better and I like that this involves more people and not just Grace by herself.I really hope that there will be a next book in this series

    6. 3.5 starsPositive: I very much appreciate a mystery that does NOT revolve around a murder.Morrigan’s use of dialogue is awesome.Great ending!Negative:The book seems to take a long time to get moving and drags in places compared to Books 1-3.There isn’t enough animal interaction throughout most of the book, especially with the monkey, whom I’ve been waiting to meet for four books.

    7. Another wonderful installment in this one of a kind series. “If I could talk to the animals, just imagine it.” ~ Doctor Dolittle. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always wanted to know what animals are thinking. Thanks to author Laura Morrigan, I get an idea of what could be happening in their little heads. Having already secured a following for her original Call of the Wilde Mysteries, Ms. Morrigan has read her reader’s minds, and penned the best book in the series so far, sure to bri [...]

    8. I loved this book so much! This series is one of my absolute favorites, and when this one hit the shelves, I immediately picked it up. Our heroine, Grace, is an animal telepath, and she is just such a great character! I also love her dog, Moss, I get so excited to "hear" him talk, it always makes me smile. This book is full of fun, and some fun new characters that I would love to see stick around! The only problem with this book, is that I read it too fast, and now I have to wait for the next on [...]

    9. Read the first four books in this series back to back. Needless to say, I'm enjoyimg them.Grace is animal behaviorist and non-practicing vet who has the ability to psychically talk to animals. She uses her gift to help domestic pets and zoo animals alike. She lives on the beach in Florida with her big sister Emma, her wolf-hybrid Moss, and her tiny black ball of fluff kitten Voodoo. Emma is the vibrant party planning extrovert. Grace is the shy introvert who relates better to animals than people [...]

    10. Grace heads to New Orleans on her first "real" case as an animal telapath. She intends to help a woman find her missing sister. When Grace tries to talk to the client's cat, she finds a wilder mind lurking outside. Things get complicated when she recieves a cryptic message that the client isn't what she seems. This book drove me crazy. Grace acted really stupid the whole time. She seemed to have a very hard time figuring out anything and she took incredibly stupid risks the whole book. I don't k [...]

    11. Wow! Another great adventure with Grace and friends (both animal and human). This is really becoming one of my very favorite cozy mystery series. This book is quite a bit more exciting and involving than previous books. Quite a few new characters - as well as a new location - were introduced in this book. I certainly hope it won't be the last I see of them.Great fun!

    12. I loved this book and the previous books in this series. If you enjoy animals and mysteries this is a winning combination. Great characters. Good story line.

    13. Now that I've read allof these books I have to wait until she writes the next one. PLEASE!! hurry Laura😁

    14. Thank you Berkley Penguin Random House for giving me a copy of Take the Monkey and Run through the First Reads program on . I'm a total Cozy Mystery junkie and it's my go to comfort read, especially before bed. I really like these "paranormal" cozy mysteries, the paranormal side really adds an extra layer of interest, so I was really excited to win this book. This is the 4th Call of the Wilde Mystery and I'm not sure why I haven't read the previous 3. Be sure I'll be picking up the first 3 in th [...]

    15. This series should never end! I can't get enough of it =)This is a fabulous addition to the series that's full of mystery, humor, drama, and awesomeness. I'm just as wow'd by the animal telepathy as I was when I read the first book of the series. It's so cool that Grace can use her animal psychic abilities to communicate with them and ultimately solve crimes or mysteries. Not for the first time, I wish I could talk to animals - or least more effectively convince my short-tempered dog that I'm no [...]

    16. Do you ever run across a book or a series that defies a true classification? Or have you found an author who makes all those subgenres work for you when no one else has? That's the Call of the Wilde series for me. I don't normally read books where there's a supernatural/fantasy element that has psychics and other phenomenon in a cozy. There are plenty of them out there, and I read very few because most come across as just silly. However, Laura Morrigan has such an easy and engaging writing style [...]

    17. 3.5 StarsSexual Content: NoneLanguage (Profanity/Slang) Content: NoneViolent Content: MinimalTake the Monkey and Run is book number four in the Call of the Wilde Mysteries Series. Grace Wilde, an animal telepath heads to New Orleans to help a woman find her missing sister. But almost as soon as she arrives, she finds that things with the case are not on the up and up. A mysterious man leaves Grace a cryptic message implying that Grace’s client isn’t who she appears to be. A monkey on the loo [...]

    18. "Take the Monkey and Run" is the 4th book in Ms. Morrigan's Call of the Wilde Series and it continues to be a strong series thus far. The story finds the main character of the series headed to New Orleans - during Mardi Gras no less - in order to help locate a missing woman by interviewing her cat. For those just joining the series the title character - Grace Wilde - is an animal behaviorist who has the unique (and mostly secret) ability to telepathically talk to animals Dr. Doolittle style; few [...]

    19. I completely enjoy this series and had been eager to have the latest installment. This is a fun and well written mystery that focuses on one of my fantasy powers: the ability to communicate with animals:)). However, this is the most "out there" of the books in terms of plot and the characters' (human AND animal) various psychic abilities; the whole "Logan as mystery man-spy-super agent" or whatever he is was also a bit over the top for me, but I still find him far more interesting than the main [...]

    20. Delighted I won this book in giveaway and became more delighted as I read. This can be read without reading others but character information from prior books would enhance enjoyment. Thought I'd read other three books, realized while reading I'd missed #3 but was enjoying this so much I kept reading. Have since read #3, then read this again. Hard to review without spoilers but. Grace Wilde, animal doctor who can mentally communicate with her patients and other animals, is in New Orleans. I want [...]

    21. I absolutely adore this series! Sometimes in a series, you find the author has become repetitive or maybe even flat. Maybe they’ve run out of ideas or simply have things going on in their lives that effects their writing. It’s no ones fault. But Laura Morrigan shows NO signs of letting up. The series is fantastic! In her first official job as a animal telepath, Grace flies to New Orleans to help locate a missing woman by “talking” to her cat. Grace is immediately warned by the mysterious [...]

    22. Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books1 star This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.4 stars I really [...]

    23. This is my absolute favorite mystery series. This one is very unique in the cozy genre. I really enjoyed it. By holy hell, cliffhanger much? I seriously hope there's a next book coming soon. Moss is my favorite character. Really though, I like all the characters.

    24. I love this series. They're interesting, well-written mysteries with a unique 'detective' solving the cases in her own way. The animal psychic angle continues to be handled in a way that reflects a lot of thought and planning going into these stories and manages to convey an clear, distinct personality for each of the animals--they become characters in the story in their own right. This story had a variety of rather amusing Characters with a capital 'C'--of both human and animal persuasions. I l [...]

    25. TAKE THE MONKEY AND RUN is a fun cozy mystery filled with quirky characters, both human and animal. The heroine has the ability to look into animal minds, which is the whole reason why she becomes involved in the central crime. Her action-packed journey takes her throughout New Orleans, and Morrigan provides enough detail and description to make the reader feel as if they're actually in the city too. Those looking for a good psychic cozy mystery are sure to enjoy this one.Disclosure: I won a fre [...]

    26. Thrilling & Complex!Grace flies to New Orleans to help locate a missing woman by using her unique telepathy skills with animals. Almost immediately Grace is warned not to trust the people who have hired her. Panicked she goes on the run. Along with her sister & friends, Grace looks for help from a runaway capuchin monkey & a psychic drag queen to find the missing woman before it's too late. The story was fast-paced & suspenseful, causing it to be impossible to put down. It was an [...]
