    1. The last page tells us there are hidden images on each page. We didn't find them.I love the warm and joyful art in this book. The story is rhyming verse and I felt like it lost the rhyming scheme in the middle. My nephew has always been crazy for snowmen, so he loves this book. He wanted to read it over and over. Have you ever wondered what snowmen do on Christmas night? This book shows us their celebrations. A very cute and fun book.

    2. My 3 year old daughter finally "got" Christmas this year and has all been about reading any and all Christmas books. While loving classics such as How the Grinch Stole Christmas! & The Polar Express), she is happy with any book that's about Christmas. So when I came upon this one at my library, I grabbed it. The pictures are PRETTY The story is about how the snowmen people make outside in their yards come alive on Christmas Eve and all get together to celebrate their own Christmas holiday. A [...]

    3. A neat rhyming story of what snowmen do to celebrate Christmas. I liked the creativity of the verses and the illustrations are gorgeous, made even more fun because in each full-page painting, Buehner hides a cat, rabbit, Santa face, T-Rex, and little brown mouse. Darned if I couldn't find a few, I'll have to study them when the boys are sleeping. A wonderful holiday story that I would pick up each year to read!

    4. Combined mother-daughter review. I bought this one after Christmas for some continued Christmas reading and for next year's Christmas reads. We loved it! This is a great rhyming read aloud. My daughter and I really enjoyed the whimsical art. We especially liked the added details and search and find. We found the hidden mouse on every page. We also found hidden pictures on a couple of pages. A wonderful adorable Christmas collection add.

    5. Definitely in my top ten Children’s Christmas books. Also had this when I was young, so bit of a sentimental value❤️

    6. The cover was so cute with all of the snowmen lined up in different clothes. There was a cowboy and one with a sombrero, one with a Santa hat and one playing a violin. This book asks the question what snowmen do to celebrate the holiday. This one wasn't as good as the first one. It was slow to start. At first they didn't do anything but go down the street and look in windows, and greet their friends and family. Then they decorated the square, which begged the question of how they got all of thos [...]

    7. The cover is cute, and I love the blue color of the inside cover.Aw the snowman on the first page is cute!I don't like the people in here.It was cute how on the page with the kid in bed, and he said 'I think that while I'm snug in bed Dreaming of Christmas treats,The Merry snowmen slip awayAnd hurry through the streets.' & the snowman is outside sliding away.I like the slow snowman crossing sign. The town is pretty with lights around the windows.I love love love the Christmas tree in town!! 8. This is the story of what snowmen do on Christmas Eve. When all of the people are sleeping, the snowmen gather together in the center of the town and throw a Christmas celebration. They dance, sing, make treats, and even have a visit from snowman Santa. Genre: poetry picture bookCopyright: 2005

    9. I would give this book 6 stars if I could. The story is so fun and happy and the illustrations were out of this world. And, there is a cat, a rabbit, a Santa face, a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a little brown mouse hidden in each painting. Wonderfully delightful. A must read for anyone who enjoys childrens books.

    10. What would happen if all the snowmen came alive on Christmas Eve and had their own celebration?? This is a bold speculation because in order for that to happen there would have to be A LOT of snow BEFORE Christmas which has never happened in my lifetime. ANYWAY the illustrations are good and the rhyming is decent

    11. This book is so fun to read! I love it! The illustrations are warm and whimsical, the rhymning text flows nicely, I think I enjoy it as much as the kids do! Note: If you like "Snowmen at Night", you'll love this one!

    12. This is a beautiful book. The artwork and writing are both wonderful and truly enjoyable. For those familiar with the Accelerated Reader Program, this is a level 3.5 book.

    13. Simply magical. Highly recommended for all children and their parents. Charming text and glorious illustrations. One of my Christmas #KidsLit favourites.

    14. Booklist (September 1, 2005 (Vol. 102, No. 1))PreS-K. One of the more charming new books of the holiday season, this reintroduces the jolly snowmen (and women) from Snowmen at Night (2002). This time they are enjoying the Christmas season, venturing out during the moonlit night (while children sleep) to gather in the town square. It's not what happens here (primarily a visit from a snow Santa and some carols 'round a tree) but the rich art that makes this special. As in the previous book, Buehne [...]

    15. rhyming story of things snowmen do at christmas like the rest of us. i love the illustrations! the colors are perfect!

    16. Snowmen at Christmas by Caralyn Buehner is one my favorite holiday books. The book starts by a little boy making a snowman on the day before Christmas. When he was headed to bed he wondered how snowmen celebrate so he dreamed about what his snowman would do. He dreamt that his snowman would slip thorough the streets and gather with his other snowmen friends. The snow children would play and the mothers would make them treats. Then they would dance and sing until the snow santa came into town del [...]

    17. Snowmen at Christmas is what I would like to think, and what I used to believe, snowmen do at night. This story is told from a young boy's perspective. He builds a snowman on Christmas Eve, which makes him start to wonder, "how do snowmen celebrate?" The young boy thinks when he's asleep at night, all the snowmen run off together and sing songs, eat treats, play tag and dance.Caralyn Buehner made a children's book that is extremely relatable and triggers the imagination. As a child, I was a suck [...]

    18. This is a cute rhyming story about Snowmen coming alive on Christmas eve and celebrating by eating snow cones, decorating trees with snowballs, and getting Christmas gifts made out of snow. My kids have all enjoyed this book--I read it all the time (including tonight, August 23 like a seasonal selection!). Know why I love this book? Because I imagine the humans in this world, eating snacks made of human flesh, decorating their Christmas trees with human heads, and getting gifts from Santa made o [...]

    19. We fell in love with this happy community of snow people after reading Snowmen at Night and had to have this book when we saw it on our bookstores shelves at Christmas time. The art is whimsical with a touch of Americana. There is so much happening on each page that after you read the story you will want to just flip back through the book to look at the pictures. Make sure you do too because you may be surprised to find some hidden pictures! The story is a fun and the poetry flows nicely as you [...]

    20. I’ve got to admit that I really love picture books that done by a husband and wife team. The story and illustrations blend together beautifully as is the case here. The illustrations are vibrant just like the feelings about Christmas. The visual details draw you in and you’ll want to study them all as you would a fine painting. There is also something there for the children as well with the artist adding lots of hidden pictures for reader to find. The story itself is quite charming as it bri [...]

    21. This book would be a wonderful addition to any child's (or adults!) Christmas book collection. The illustrations are very colorful and Christmas-y. When the snowmen travel the city streets at night to celebrate Christmas, the sky is a gorgeous shade of purple and there is muted yellow street lamp light, plus beautiful points of multicolored lights on their tree. And then Christmas morning the sky is a bright blue and clear and the contrast between that and the purple is visually STUNNING. A+ for [...]

    22. This is a very nice book that helps a child's imagination thrive. The illustrations are wonderful that goes with a basic not to detailed story. Most lines are rhyming which draws the reader-listener in even more. Setting is Christmas Eve and a child wonders what their snowman does on Christmas Eve. The snowman meets up with the neighborhood snowmen and celebrates on the square waiting for Santa and celebrating the 'kings birth'. Only one line refers to Christ's birthday but it's enough for Chris [...]

    23. kachildrensbookreviewsspoSo what do snowmen do for Christmas? Well in this story we see that they celebrate Christmas in a fun way and they also get to met Kris Kringle. There are also a few hidden items hiding that you can find within the story which is pretty neat. I think that I enjoy how when the snowmen come out to do things it is like a small town coming together to enjoy the festivities. They sing songs, celebrate the Kings birth and just have fun. This is a great read to read at Christma [...]

    24. Kids have a great time building snowmen, but you have to wonder: what do the folks made of snow do after all the people have gone to sleep? We found this at a consignment sale and it turned out to be a really fun and cute Christmas book a la Toy Story that covers many aspects of this special day. I was a little surprised at the turn it took toward the end (and then kind of annoyed that it came as such a surprise), and the rhythm of the text and the cool warmth (yes) of the illustrations were a gr [...]

    25. besides being a really cool book on almost every page a cat, a rabbit, a santa face, a tyrannosaurus Rex, and a little brown mouse are hiding. mommy and i had a lot of fun looking for them. sometimes, they were pretty hard to spot (age 5)

    26. Both a beautiful and fun book. I used this with several classes at school; for many pages, I had them guess the final word in the rhyme. I wish I had access to the eBook, because the pictures are just gorgeous.
